Wicked, Again!

I know, I know, I've already seen Wicked when some friends and I made a trip to New York. However, before we moved to California I heard that Wicked was going to be playing in S.F. January through July and I just couldn't pass it up! My mom and sister really wanted to see it and since I had the worst seat possible in N.Y. (last row of the entire theater and farthest seat on the left) I was determined to buy a better seat. Luckily, I'm a proud user of an Amex credit card and us 'members' have the ability to buy tickets to shows that are not yet released to the public. This was my chance! Within minutes of the tickets being able to be purchased by Amex card users I had myself 3 tickets in the 5th row from the stage! I bought those tickets back in September and I have been counting down the days until April 18th. Unfortunately, my sister had to drop out of the trip because she hurt her back/shoulder really bad and would be in too much pain to sit through an 8 hour car ride (up and back) and 3 hour show. My Dad was all too willing to take her place and was pretty glad he did. He LOVED the show! It's not just a chick thing. And I LOVED being so close to the action. I could see spit while they spoke, dust from slamming books closed and strings hanging from the bottom of Galinda's dress (the strings bugged me by the way. I wanted to stop the show and jump up there and trim them). Trust me, if this show comes anywhere near you, please go! I would even see it again if Travis hadn't already threatened me not to even think about it ;) I'll just cross my fingers they'll make it into a movie and SOON!

The Phantom of the Opera

We had another fun day in the City Saturday. My parents drove up Friday night just in time to have dinner at a local Italian restaurant that they (and us) love. The last two times they have come up we've eaten there. I don't think it would be a stretch to say that we will probably eat there every time they come to visit us.

Saturday, we picked up my brother and had a family picture at the Golden Gate Bridge. It was an abnormally bright, sunny day in the City. That didn't last too long though. It soon got really cold and rained/hailed on us while we were walking around to find a place for lunch.

And the reason we were in the City to begin with-The Phantom of the Opera! I loved it! I had only seen the movie, Travis had seen both, but couldn't remember the musical and my parents and brother hadn't seen either. Everyone enjoyed it and had a great time. I was surprised at how close the movie version is to the musical. Some of the songs are a little more pumped up and cut short in the movie, but if it's the only version you get to see then it's great. If it comes to your city though I would take the opportunity to see it!

Brian Regan

Tonight Travis and I went and saw one of my most favoritist people in the world!! BRIAN REGAN! For those of you who don't know who he is, he's one of the greatest comics I've ever heard. He has the goofiest expressions and his jokes are very clean. If you get a chance to see him don't turn it down. His concert was outside at a winery in Saratoga, Ca. It is up on a mountain overlooking the bay area.
This is from his DVD I walked On The Moon.

This is one of my favorite skits! The video isn't very good, but you can hear him. It's about his early years in school.
