Walks

I feel like we are finally getting on a set schedule with nights and naps and it has been so nice.  His bed time is between 7:30 and 8 and he sleeps until 6.  Since Beau has been waking up the same time every morning I decided to take advantage of the time before he goes back down for his morning nap by going on walks.  I just plop him in the stroller in his jammies and we get going.  Not only do I get some exercise, but I've noticed he takes a much better, longer nap when we get home.  He has loved taking walks since he was a wee lad.  The problem about where we were living in California was there wasn't a good area to go walking.  I could cross two busy streets to walk around a park, but the park housed many homeless men and drug dealers.  I could just walk along the street that our apartment was on and pass a gentlemens club amoung other various stores, but there weren't always sidewalks and I wasn't a fan of walking on a busy street.  Luckily, we don't have to worry about any of that here in our new community.  We have plenty of sidewalks, no busy streets to cross and many parks and trails that aren't occupied by sketchy people.  Needless to say I am much more willing to go walking here.

I just LOVE this kid!!

Overboard

A few weeks ago I went on a shopping trip that went out of control.  Shopping with a baby takes some adjusting.  There are no quick run ins to a store.  You have to lug in the car seat and find a shopping cart or get your stroller out unless you feel like lugging the carseat by arm power and that gets tiring very quickly.  There is a shopping center near by that has a lot of stores to choose from.  That's almost a bad thing because when you are there you feel like you have to get everything done at once, which is what I tried to do.

I started off the trip at one end of the shopping center at HomeGoods.  I bought a 7 x 10 ft area rug and a big wicker basket.  I went 2 stores down into Wal-Mart and picked up a 64 gal garbage can.  I looked pretty funny carrying the carseat on one arm and pulling the large garbage can on wheels behind me.  Target was next door so I stopped in there and picked up a curtain rod and some formula.  My last store I visited was World Market.  I picked up 2 bathroom rugs and a set of basket drawers.  Beau did amazingly well on the whole shopping trip and didn't seem to mind the cramped quarters.  Not everything is pictured because some things were crammed on the floor of the front seat, but you get the idea.
