Go Giants!

For Father's Day weekend my parents came up and we went to a Giants game. Travis wanted me to post this picture because it's of the two (yes, two) homerun balls he caught during batting practice. He caught them bare handed and was ecstatic. Since coming home he likes to carry them around the house and he sleeps every night with them on his night stand.

Hoedown Throwdown

Please welcome the Hannah Montana back-up dancers!!! YAY!!! Oh wait, let me rewind a little bit...

Our ward was planning a talent show for Enrichment. I've been working in Primary the last couple of months and I was enjoying my ignorant bliss about the talent show. That is, until I received a phone call from my friend, Angi, saying she signed me up for the talent show to do a dance with her and my friend Melissa. What?!?! I was trying my hardest to think of some excuse to get out of it, but not being able to come up with a good one I decided to bite the bullet and just go for it. Angi came up with the idea of doing the dance, Hoedown Throwdown, from the Hannah Montana movie. She was teaching it to her little girls and thought it would be fun if we tried learning it for the talent show. We prepared long and hard to learn the steps of the dance and we finally got it down. It was really fun to get together and learn the dance and actually fun to perform (even though I was so nervous). Everyone was supposed to wear eccentric, gaudy accesories, to the show, but not everyone got the memo-we tried though. We wanted to be dressed up since we were performing. We also wanted the audience to get up and try to dance with us so we wouldn't feel as stupid. We were surprised at how into it they got, and it took a little attention off of us thankfully.

It All Began in a Garden

For Easter my parents gave us mini garden pots w/seeds. We started with daisies and sunflowers and then my Mom got us basil, tomatoes, peppers and chives. We are hoping to eat something that we grow, but it sure is taking the plants forever to grow! Travis planted them all and he diligently goes out every evening after work to water and check on them. Some days he goes out multiple times to check them. I like to refer to the plants as his babies. I sometimes think he cares for those little plants more than me! The first ones he planted are already needing to be transplanted to a bigger pot that he picked up at the store today. Hopefully they will soon be joined by the others and start producing goods.

Everyone Needs a Makeover

As you can tell I did a little makeover on the blog. I was getting tired of looking at the same 'ol thing. I took some tutorials on how to do digital scrapbooking yesterday and I thought doing our header would be great practice. I think I'm addicted now. I hope you like the new look!

We Are The Champions!

This post is a little late, but back in May we attended the collegiate rugby national championship. Stanford hosts it every year. Travis' younger brother Andrew has been on BYU's team for the last couple years. Cal has won 24 championships since the Rugby National Championship competition started in 1980. And for the last 3 years BYU has competed with Cal in the championship; always facing defeat. That is, until this year. We were lucky enough to watch history in the making. BYU finally pulled off a victory against Cal! Travis rushed the field in his excitement and he couldn't stop smiling all night. It's funny how sports can make a guy so happy. I guess it's kind of like how a new pair of shoes makes a girl happy. Well, at least me! Travis has always wanted to say BYU is number 1 in the land and now he can officially say it!
