On Sunday the 22nd, Travis and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. We didn't do much. We came home from church and Travis surprised me with a pan full of brownies that he was hiding in our cupboards. He had made them the day before while I was away shopping. I had been away all day and didn't come home until around 10 Saturday night. When I walked in I told him it smelled like chocolate and he covered by saying he didn't know what I was talking about (he's quick on his feet). Anyway, you can tell he obviously didn't wait for them to cool before he tried writing on them with the frosting because the words melted together. Oh well, he's just an amateur when it comes to decorating. The real celebration came on the Friday before when we decided to drive to Richmond. We went to the Cheesecake Factory! Neither of us has been and it was definitely a nice treat. I took Amanda's recommendation
and got the Crispy Chicken Costoletta. A good choice! Three very thin chicken breasts, lightly breaded and sauteed to a crisp golden brown. It was served with lemon sauce, mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. I couldn't get enough of the lemon sauce and almost asked for more when our waitress came by to see if she could get us anything else. Travis got the Chicken Madeira. Which is their most popular chicken dish! It was a sauteed chicken breast topped with fresh asparagus and melted mozzarella cheese, covered with fresh mushroom madeira sauce. His also came with mashed potatoes. We HAD to get dessert so we finished our meal off with their Chocolate Tuxedo Cream Cheesecake. There were layers of their fudge cake, chocolate cheesecake, vanilla mascarpone mousse and chocolate. Let me tell you it was perfect! It had just the right amount of chocolate. After dinner we walked around the Short Pump mall which is really nice. And that was it for our anniversary. No gifts, just dinner. It was nice and cheap ;)
