Memorial Day BBQ

For Memorial Day we hosted a neighborhood BBQ. We set up a sprinkler and borrowed a slip 'n slide. It was a SUPER hot day, but I think everyone still had fun.  At least the kids did, who ran around in the water the whole time.

Beau kept getting in the kids way at the slip 'n slide because he wanted to do it but was scared. He would just stand at the edge and not go. So Travis held him a couple times and he seemed to enjoy doing that despite what his face looks like in these pictures!

He Did It!

Travis passed another state bar! He is now a member of Virginia's bar. He's hoping he won't have to study for another one any time soon.

All About Mom

The month of May was all about me! We celebrated Mother's Day of course and then my girlfriends came into town and we had a weekend of non-stop shopping!

First things first. I made sure to tell Travis exactly what I wanted for Mother's Day-and that was cupcakes!

Not just any 'ol cupcake but some from Georgtown cupcake. I wrote a list of the exact flavors I wanted as well. They were great!

Here's a breakdown of the flavors, in order of best to worst-salted caramel, peanut butter fudge, lava fudge, german chocolate fudge, mint oreo, and red velvet. There really wasn't a 'worst' and it was hard to pick a favorite. I hope it's a Mother's Day tradition!

Towards the end of the month some of my girlfriends came for a girls' weekend! We did this last year, but I never got around to posting it. We hope to get together every year. We were missing a couple girls though due to a pregnancy and a natural disaster.

What do we do on our kids/husband free weekend? We pretty much shop for two days straight and stay up all night talking and eating yummy snacks. We did squeeze in a chick flick and a pedi. It was so much fun! Can't wait till next year!!
