Bed Head

I have long waited for the day when Beau would get hair. Especially on the top of his head. It's finally happened! I love going in to get him from his nap to see if he has crazy hair. This day was by far the most craziest and I was one happy Momma!

Old MacDonald

For Labor Day we took Beau to a farm. He loves animals and especially cows. Everything is 'a moo'. No matter what the animal is, he usually says, moo!

Luckily, the cows were up first.

Goats were next.

They were feeding some of the animals as we were looking at them. When we were looking at the sheep, the tractor pulled up with the hay and I had never seen sheep run so fast from across the field. They were so excited. The workers dropped some hay so Beau thought he would be helpful and give the sheep the fallen hay. Straw by straw...

The chicken coup.
"What are you looking at?"

Every time the roosters 'cock-a-doodle-do'-ed Beau would jump. He was a little afraid of the chickens. Besides moo-ing he can also do a really good 'cock-a-doodle-do', but was being shy in front of his audience. As soon as we moved on, instead of saying moo, he 'cock-a-doodle-do'-ed the rest of the time around the farm!

Turkey pen.

We found this cool old pick-up truck on the farm too.

Apparently Dad's ears also make good handles.

The farm sure tired this little guy out.

Family Pics

We tried our hand, again, at taking family pics. This year I got to use my tripod! My Mom got me one for Christmas and it came in handy a lot on this trip. If only the wind cooperated this year.

It's amazing how much he has grown since last year, when we took a similar picture.

Here he is, trying to escape.

I don't love these next two family pics. The wind wasn't holding anything back on my hair, I think they are blurry and I think the coloring is off. I tried to fix it as much as I could but I still don't think they are great.

I wish this one wasn't blurry!! I like this one the best out of the two, and I still might try to print it and see if the blurryness still bothers me once it's up on a wall.

And of course the only one that turned out great, color and crispness, is our outtake! Oh well, that's how we roll.

Harrison Beach Week 2011

We had another great week at the beach! The beach was extra fun this year, mostly because Beau enjoyed it so much too. He, of course, loved the sand, loved the pool and loved the ocean. Win, win, win.

I took a different approach to the beach this year and I think I liked it better. I didn't take a book to read-gasp! I really didn't have much time to read in between boogie board riding and playing with Beau. I think I will do that again next year.

Here is our annual after church picture.

And we had two goofy pictures this year.

Let's start with the beach shenanigans...
Most days the water was a great temperature. Beau liked to go out with us, but I was scared to hold him when any waves came our way. I left that job to Travis.

The guys played Bocci ball a few times at the beach. Beau loved to follow Travis around while he played. I kept thinking of the song Mary had a Little Lamb-everywhere that Mary went the lamb was sure to go.

This picture of Johnny cracks me up! He kept putting his head in the sand. I guess he thought that view of the ocean was better.

When we would go back out to the beach in the evenings there would be a nice, low tide and the water was really warm. The Dad's would pull out the low rider chairs and sit in the water and watch the kids. Beau thought it was funny to have a sand fight with Dad. He would run in circles around him and throw sand on his head. Travis would throw sand back and on and on it went.

I could not get enough of these sandy face pictures. Beau had sand everywhere! Poor guy had major chaffing from practically day one with being in swim diapers for most of the day and having sand down his pants. Once we got a hold of some Eucerin though, that cleared things right up and he didn't even miss a beat.
I love how you can even see the sand in his eyelashes!

The pool shenanagins...
Polka dots were out in full force this year!

Someone had the bright idea of moving this slide into the pool area and the kids had a blast sliding into the pool.

We held our yearly volleyball tournament, but I didn't take any pictures of it with my camera this year. But if I remember correctly I think I was on the winning team :)

House shenanigans...

Beau thought he was one of the big kids and wanted his turn to eat at the bar.

Beau found his ears on this trip. He enjoyed tuning us out. Or maybe he started doing this because one of his cousins (I won't say who, but his name starts with a J- and ends with an -ohnny) developed a shreeking habit. It sounded a lot like a pterodactyl.

The girls and kids tie-dyed some shirts and I think everyone was happy with how they turned out.

Beau pushing his cuz on the swing.

We also had a super fun glow-stick, dance party! I believe we will be keeping this activity for years to come.

See ya next year!
