Saturday Travis participated in his first and last pinewood derby. He was really excited about making a car and had a very creative and intricate design planned out. Unfortunately, it was a little too creative and intricate and he realized there was no way he could produce what he envisioned. So, the block of wood sat on our end table for days until 30 minutes before the event when Travis decided to pick a name for it, put wheels on and add weights to the back. His car finished consistently 3rd out of 4 cars in all of it's heats, but Travis says he will never participate in another pinewood derby again.
