At exactly 1 month and 2 days old Beau started skipping his every 2-3 hour feedings during the night. It has been so nice! His last feeding for the night is between 9 and 10pm and he sleeps until 3 or 4am. He then eats and goes back to sleep until 6 or 7am.
On the sleeping note, he also has been sleeping by himself for naps. I owe it all to The Happiest Baby on the Block and the 5 S's. I read the book before he was born and wasn't that impressed with it. Most people recommended watching the DVD. We rented the DVD from the hospital and I have to say the DVD is much better. You can see exactly how the doctor soothes the babies and how fast it works. Now Beau almost prefers sleeping by himself on his side. You have to get the angle just right and it's like a switch. He falls to sleep almost instantly.
Beau now smiles at us. He smiled like crazy when we were down at my parents house because of all the attention he was getting. He was so cute! Still have yet to capture it on camera though.
On to the confessions...
I went to the hospital to pick some stuff up and Beau was getting a little fussy. It was close to feeding time so I got him out of his carseat and sat in a comfortable chair to feed him. I burped him and just sat him back down in the carseat while we continued walking through the hospital. We left and went straight home and when I lifted the blanket to get him out of the carseat once we were inside I saw I had never buckled him in!! He was chilling in his carseat unbuckled while I drove home. I can't believe I did that. Luckily, we didn't get in an accident. I just hope that doesn't slip my mind again.
We had an appointment for Beau the other day and while we were waiting to be called he pooped. I went into the bathroom to change him and soon realized that it was a major blow out. It seemed that most of the poo went out of the diaper instead of in. I was prepared with an extra outfit so I started the changing process. I was wiping him off when I heard them call his name. Travis was there and told them I was changing him. He came into the bathroom to tell me they were ready and saw what I was dealing with. He quickly started helping me. Finally, we thought we had cleaned him off and went back to see the doctor. While Beau was laying on the table, naked except for his diaper, I started seeing spots of poo that we appearantly had missed. Travis and I both felt like bad parents because he still had poo all over him. We will quadruple check next time to make sure we get it all.

oh my gosh!! Can a kid get cuter and cuter with every post?! I guess so. He is such a stinkin' cutie! I love it. Don't beat yourself up about the carseat thing I'm sure it's happened many a time. I'm sure that probably doesn't make you feel better. The poo story cracks me up. I'm sorry! :) I'm so glad he's becoming a great sleeper for you. That must be SO nice when they make it to the point where they only have to wake up once in the night. Keep the pictures coming, I love seeing him!
ohh i looove it!!!!
oh he's so cute! i'm so happy he's wearing his onesie!
and i can't tell you how many times we've accidentally left our kids unbuckled. it will probably happen again. everyone does it at least once. :)
Welcome to parenthood--I think you've been properly initiated:) What a cute boy!
I've found that forgeting to buckle them in happens more often with the 2ed one! I hate it when that happens to me too!
