First Our Bike, Now Our Garage Gate Opener...

What the HECK?!?!?!?! If you are regular readers of this thing then you may have seen the post awhile ago about Travis', Grandma's bike being stolen from our patio. Now we can say that our garage gate opener has been stolen. It was in our car, on the visor, down in the gated, locked garage of our complex. Somehow, someone got in there and busted our window open to get it. Why they would need the gate opener since THEY WERE ALREADY IN THE GARAGE, I don't know. Nothing else was taken from our car, but there was nothing valuable in there anyway. They wouldn't know that though because they didn't even unlock the car and go through it. They only busted our window for the sole purpose of stealing the controller. And the funny thing is, the night before ours was broken into, someone else's car was broken into and they only took the controller as well. If it's the same person, or people, and they already have a controller, why did they need another one? To pass them out to their other stealing friends perhaps? The unfortunate thing, now that these controllers are stolen and the criminals have access to our garage any time they wish, is our complex won't do a thing about it. They won't warn anyone, reissue new controllers or maybe even setup surveillance cameras (which I think every garage needs by the way). At this point I think it's safe to say that it's safer to park upstairs since criminals are targeting our garage and we are the third break in the last two weeks.

Unbelievable! It makes Rochester look safer than ever! Yeah right, a couple weeks ago we had an officer ring our doorbell at 2 am because he had a guy bolt out of his car when he stopped him for a traffic stop. He thought he might be in one of our cars since our car light was on, but luckily he wasn't.

Anyway, that's totally lame and it's a shame that your insurance probably won't pay for the whole thing since you'll have your deductible. I hate that!

Yikes! I think that is a good idea to park upstairs now.

OH MY GOODNESS! That is scary that someone is stealing the garage openers. Scary people are getting access to your building! I hope you keep your doors locked.

I would be livid about the management not taking more responsibility. Is there anyone else you can complain to--like a supervisor or someone higher in management?

We have a gated garage and someone recently broke into our neighbor's car too. (They stole stuff his left in his car.) It's frustrating when security measures don't work.

That totally stinks. I mean, why steal 3? It's like they're doing it just for the thrill. I'd be so ticked.
